Sounds PLUS Healing Yoga & Meditation Studio Sessions
Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in ancient India. The word yoga is derived from the Sanskrit root yuj, meaning “to yoke,” or “to unite”. The practice aims to create union between body, mind and spirit, as well as between the individual self and universal consciousness. Yoga’s primary focus is on bringing together body, mind and breath as a means of altering energy or shifting consciousness.
Meditation is a practice where an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity – to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state. It is practiced in numerous religious traditions and has been shown to significantly reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and pain, and enhance peace, perception, self-concept, and well-being.
Sound Healing involves using sound vibrations to relax your mind and body. It can help you clear energetic blockages and thus facilitate healing on a physical and mental level. Some of the benefits of sound therapy include lower stress levels; stabilize mood; lower blood pressure; lower cholesterol; and improved sleep. Over the years, sound healing has also been used to treat a number of conditions including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, autism, and dementia.
Sound Healing + Yoga/Meditation
Sound Healing and Yoga/Meditation are some of the world’s most powerful tools to complement the mind, body, spirit balance in our daily lives. People who attend yoga classes, meditation sessions or sound baths often have a number of things in common such as looking to reduce stress; improve general health and wellness; develop strength and flexibility (yoga); overcome health challenges (such as depression, anxiety); mindfulness for mental health issues; spiritual seekers; and mind/body/sprit practitioners and healers.
There are so many benefits and healing outcomes by combing sound into yoga/meditation practices such as:
- Playing certain sounds can facilitate the postures and Asanas
- Sounds can help people become calmer and focused
- Can engage with inner sounds
- Helps to clear energetic blockages in chakras, Nadis and meridians
- Sounds help to ground and centre the energy
- Help to raise personal collective vibrations
- Can take people on a journey over a number of sessions
- Lessening of any symptoms of illness and disease
- Individual and group experience of peace, harmony and acceptance
